Originally from Sauble Beach, Ontario, Canada, Loren Walker’s poetry has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize and chosen as a finalist for the Luminare Award, the Beulah Rose Poetry Prize, and the Harbor Review Editor’s Prize. Loren’s poems have appeared in Hive Avenue Journal, Levee Magazine, QU Journal, the West Texas Literary Review, and other publications. Loren has also published two chapbooks: viscerous by The Offending Adam, and neverheart by Dancing Girl Press.

Loren’s debut fiction novel, EKO, won the Library Journal Indie E-book Award for Science Fiction, was awarded a BRAG Medallion, shortlisted for the Half the World Global Literari Award, and selected as a Shelf Unbound Notable Indie title. The sequels, NADI, INSYNN, and NYX were released to acclaim.

Currently, Loren is revising Witch Machine, a YA science-fiction and fantasy novel, and finishing the first draft of The Birds of Graceborne, a queer Gothic fantasy novel described as Crimson Peak meets Carmilla.

Loren is also the author and illustrator of the children’s book Juniper Key and the Very Serious Girl.

Loren currently lives in Providence, Rhode Island, and is a member of LitArtsRI, teaching workshops that welcome neurodiverse and LGBTQA students. Loren is also a multimedia artist, working in painting, embroidery, jewelry, printmaking, and other disciplines, and sells at local markets and on Etsy at Thistle & Crow Studio.
